Lynda Murphy of Sonny Bear

The story behind our brands

Hello, and welcome to Sonny Bear.

As a mum of two girls, I’ve had a passion for stylish children’s clothes since my first daughter was born 22 years ago. Since then I have dreamt of opening my own kids’ retail outlet. Now that my own daughters have grown up, I’ve finally had the time to make that dream a reality by creating Sonny Bear. I’ve created an Irish kids clothes website that delivers lasting style for your little ones direct to your home.

As we become increasingly concerned about our environment, I’ve tried to source clothing that is ‘hand-me-downable’ and ethically produced. We stock high-quality clothes in the best fabrics that move away from ‘fast fashion’ fads towards a more sustainable approach to childrenswear.

I have travelled around Europe to meet the people behind our brands. These are designers who share my passion for style, quality and sustainability. Our brands use luxurious fabrics that are gentle and comfortable on young skin. I’ve hand-picked all the clothes available on I hope you’ll agree that these ranges really are gorgeous, from soft, snuggly pyjamas to delightful dresses and sharp shirts and chinos.

I just wish I could turn back time and dress my own pair in some of these lovely garments!

From the Scandi chic of Ebbe, the timeless elegance of Kidiwi and the classic knits of Kuxo to the delightfully dreamy designs of Dotty Dungarees and the carefree style of Knot. There’s something to suit your child in our range. We have everything from clothes for those a special occasions to luxurious Brai sleepwear.

Look around and find something you like, whether it’s for your own little ones or as a gift for someone special. If you can’t decide on what to get for that special present, we have just launched Sonny Bear gift cards.

Don’t forget to visit our sale section for some terrific discounts on our designer ranges.

I’ll be happy to answer any questions you have. Email or you can join our mailing list for the latest updates and offers.
